Chiton Shell
This amazing creature is called a Sea Cradle or Chiton. It has 8 overlapping plates which allow it to flex upward when moving over uneven surfaces. It curls up into a ball when it gets dislodged from rocks like a pangolin. This sea creature lived in the rock pools in front of my house when I lived in St James, Cape Town.
